St. Patrick's Day

Linus the Leprechaun visited us on St. Patrick's Day again this year.  We were a little worried, because he didn't make it to our house until late in the day, but he did FINALLY come.  We chased him all over the house, but weren't able to catch him again this year.  He is always one step ahead of us!  This year, we found our first clue in the mailbox and it told us to go inside where we found this. . .

From the first riddle we figured out that Linus wanted us to go to where all of Ryan's toys are kept.  We found that he had made a staircase so he could play with some of Ryan's toys.  He left another clue AND that tricky leprechaun left a St. Patrick's Day activity for Ryan to complete.

Color By Number -- we all worked on it together.

Apparently, after he played with some toys, Linus used a necklace to make a rope ladder so that he could climb into the fridge and help himself to a snack.  Sneaky, sneaky!

All that milk made Linus have to pee and to our surprise his pee is green!  Sure took that little Leprechaun a lot of work to reach the potty!

Then it was off for a nap. . . Linus even left his leprechaun size slewing bag and pillow!

After his nap, it looked like Linus got together a group of Ryan's stuffed animals and read them a leprechaun sized book.  It was a silly one called I Have to Go by Robert Munsch.

After a trip to Ryan's art table . . .

Linus head back upstairs for a bath -- he even left his green glittery water in the sink!

Linus escaped out the front door . . .

and managed to go for a spin around the neighborhood in the car . . .

before leaving a green glitter trail . . .

ALL the way to the backyard!  On the back patio we found that Linus had left us some new wooden blocks and some chocolate cupcakes with GREEN frosting and mini chocolate chips on top!

That silly Linus!

Ryan is already hoping that Linus will be back next year . .  .

Rainbow

We had the most amazing full rainbow right outside our house a couple of weeks ago.  The colors were so bold and if I knew how to better work my camera I could have taken a picture of the whole thing, but instead you will just have to imagine the other 3/4 of it!

Boston Children's Museum

Ryan and I went to Vermont in February for my cousin's wedding.  We flew into Boston and met my mom and sister and drove with them the rest of the way to Vermont.  Before heading to Vermont we went to the Boston Children's Museum and had a great time.

They had some turtles on exhibit and you were able to crawl under the tank to watch them.  Ryan loved this and he took this (and many other) pictures of the turtles.

Ryan's creation out of some BIG tinker toys.

Driving the school bus with a very special passenger. . .

Using the jack hammer.

The all time favorite this trip -- Peep and the Big Wide World Exhibit.  Peep and the Big Wide World is a show on PBS that Ryan thinks is hilarious.

Ryan and Chirp

Although it rained a lot during over visit, there were still HUGE mounds of snow all around.  Ryan had a blast climbing to the top of them!

Zoo

Ryan LOVES the zoo and he often asks to go.  We love the zoo in Jan. and Feb. because they have $5 admission and we REALLY LOVED the zoo when we went in Jan. this year because all of the animals were out.  We have never been to the zoo on a day were we got to see everybody.  It was a lot of fun!

How tall are you?  Ryan is as tall as an Emperor Penguin!

Watching the Mandrill eat

Reading his map while riding an elephant!
The statues are just as fun as the real animals!

The gorillas were all out and running around.  They were so fun to watch!

Better watch out for this guy . . . he sure is posing nicely for a picture though!

We got to see lots of pretty birds up close . . .
A Violaceous Plantain-eater, or so the sign said.
